Simon Paul

Simon is a founding member of the Southfields Theatre Group and he wrote and directed its first production, Cinderella. He has since written some other material yet to be performed and will be directing the summer show, RolePlay by Alan Ayckbourn. In the interim, Simon appeared in Forty as a nudist and in the review Hang Out the Flags as a parrot. He has provided his technical skills in sound and light on other shows.
Simon’s theatrical escapades began in the early ’70s when he was a member of the Brycbox Youth Theatre in New Malden, Surrey. During that time, he acted, directed, stage-managed and provided technical support for most of the shows including Zigger Zagger, The Crucible, The Ruling Class, Black Comedy and White Liars, Circles Love on the Dole, There’s a lot of it About, No Pasaran and Big Al. Two shows including Circles were entered into national drama festivals. Following the closure of the centre where the theatre was based, Simon went on to form Four Way Theatre which produced two plays including Steven Berkoff’s adaptation of The Fall of the House of Usher.
