The recent reprised run of Polly Teale’s play, Bronte by Southfields Theatre Group has raised over £900 for the Make a Wish Foundation which grants wishes to sick children.
The play deals with the Brontë siblings and their relationships and how, though “not having lived”, they managed to write some of the most enduring pieces of classical literature of all time.
Performances ran from 8th to 11th March at St Barnabus Church Southfields, once again under the direction of Ben Robinson. The Saturday night performance was attended by The Mayor of Wandsworth, Cllr. Richard Field. Speaking to the audience after the show, the Mayor commented on the excellent execution of the show and its capacity not only to entertain but also to educate.
Ben Robinson said: “I cannot thank the cast and everyone involved enough. This run was slightly reimagined from our first run last September. The cast worked exceptionally hard to produce a piece of theatre that has delighted audiences this week and helped us to raise a fantastic sum of money for a wonderful charitable cause.
